History

Introduction :- Department of History is one of the oldest department of this college. It was established in 1991 with establishment of college. We teach the students at under graduate level. We guide for research students. The first batch of graduation came out in 1994.

To create responsible citizen for Nation. • To develop about the teaching and learning that produces graduates to International standard. • Creating historical objectivity in the students.

To enable the students to develop their personality • To make the students capable of searching and validating the truthfulness of historical events. • To make the students capable for competitive examination. • To make research values among the students.

Goals Mission

To undertake teaching, research and extension program in major branches of History.

•To impart training to the students in order to equip them in academic and professional capability and develop among them analytical perspective.

•To encourage research in the socio-political issues at contribute to the discipline of the History.

• To undertake extension activities in order to crate free, just and human society.

• To spread the social values like democracy, secularism, fraternity and equality among the students.

To create awareness among the students about Indian ancient History.

• To provide updated information in preparation for the competitive examination.

The Department has taken upon itself the mission of-

• Working zestfully and resourcefully to impart the four skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing to students.

• Of making all the students acquire the required communicative competency in English and multi intelligence including cognitive skills and soft skills so as to secure a job of their choice and survive in a competitive globalised environment.

• Providing an effective platform for students in the acquisition of the language skills.

• Encouraging the students develop confidence, self-motivation and to think independently.

• It is to provide an academically exhilarating environment which allow our students to enjoy social learning.

Activities

Publication of historical events is displayed on wall bulletin under title “SMRUTI”.
Educational excursion is organized to visit historical places and exhibitions.
For study of local History field work is organized.
Students are motivated to do work on project and research work.
Azadi ka Amrut Mahostav was celebrated by organizing online Quiz competition.
During Covid-19 pandemic, National webinar was organized.
For evaluation of students we conduct class test.
Frequently organize guest lecture of eminent persons.
For educationally poor student, we conduct remedial coaching.
Group discussion and seminars are also organized among the students.
On occasion of birth anniversary of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, we organize Shivjagar (Focus on biography and administration of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj).
Elocution competition was organized on Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj birth anniversary.
