Bhagwan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Gevrai’s Rashtramata Indira Gandhi Arts, Commerce and Science College, Jalna was established on 27th August 1991. Since then the college has opened up the opportunities for socially and economically backwards, minority students; specifically Muslim girls, rural and urban students from the region of Marathwada and Vidarbha students.

Around 80% of students avail various kinds of scholarships and free-ships. Many students are from farmers’ families and working category. In the day-time they study and during night, they work. Some of them are part-time workers. Our students are hard working on both the platforms. The students are like huge shadow giving trees hidden in the seeds. With the financial assistance and curricular and co-curricular activities, various programs of personality developments, the students become responsible civilized person of India. Our administrative and academic work is well documented and well disciplined. With the enhanced social sensibility, when they go in the society. They take the social responsibilities and become part of social engineering. The alumni are found in every sector leading the society, politics, cultural activities, literature and intellectual people in various fields. The students are capable of resolving issues and problem in front of the society and the nation. They believe in social equality and integration. Hence, they are torch bearers of the society.  Freedom, equality, fraternity and secularism are consciously guarded; they are tolerant enough towards the views of others. Gender equality in particular is observed in all staff members, we all have friendly atmosphere and so the students learn. In other words they are truly guards of Indian Constitution. When we see our alumni in the society, we never found discrimination in them. I think, this is a result of ethical and friendly behaviour of our faculty and non-teaching staff. Every member tries to inculcate values of equality and secularism in the students with their own behaviour and teaching. This is a ‘inculcate and reflect’ process: the faculty is a mother figure for them.  ‘Education will Provide Social Justice’, keeping in view the aim, we all function for Social Justice. The students in turn function in the society, while leading their lives, with ethics and honesty. Hon’ble President Dr. Narayanrao Mundhe guides us time to time.  The college organises state level ‘Social Justice Lecture Series’ every year that is the innovative and remarkable activity of our college. The lecture series discusses issues and problems of Indian society and Nation. Various sections of the society attend the lectures. The college also organises late ‘Shrimanthrao Munde Debate Competition.’ Students from the university and affiliated colleges can take part in the competition. The debate competition is an effort to give the sensible social leaders to the nation.  It is the creditable thing that the alumni frequently visit the college. Many of them and our students share their life experiences with the faculty and myself, sometimes they need consultation and guidance. We are always there for all the students and Alumni.  We are fortunate that we are in a profession of nation building and prepare a good civilized person for independence India. As an HEI, it is our duty to build humanity and logical thoughtful students. We have accomplished our goal and are happy for the sense of fulfilment of our dutiful functioning.
