Introduction

Department of Physics, Rashtramata Indira Gandhi Arts commerce & Science college is Affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Aurangabad is one of the oldest departments of this College, established in 1991. The Physics department runs three-year degree course. In Last few years, the department has achieved wide recognition in teaching undergraduate course. The department provides skill oriented and quality education contributing in the process of social development. Wellbeing of common man through the study of Mechanics and properties of matter , Heat and thermodynamics, optics, electricity and magnetism ,Mathaematical physics statistical physics ,Modern and Nuclear Physics General Electronics, solid state physics ,Classical and Quantum maechanics , electrodynamics ,Atomic and Molecular physics LASER, non-conventional energy sources and optical fiber are subjects for B. Sc. degree. This Department is with well-equipped laboratory to facilitate students for research with different types of instruments.

Scope and Importance of Subject

Physics is one of the most important subjects comes under fundamental sciences. This subject has achieved wide recognition throughout the world as it is related with physical elements study. In industry and colleges this subject is important it play basic roll in study; for next education post graduate students can increase their knowledge with specialization electronic , astrophysics ,microwave, solid state physics, thermodynamics, optics ,etc

Dear students and parents, on be half of physics department , I head of this department , welcome you. This is one of the basic science department of this institute.

Basically the department runs as per UGC.and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, guidelines. The main motto of this department is teaching learning and evaluation for under graduate students in physics, faculty also involved in social extracurricular and wide range of important practical activites. beside regular academic activities other extracurricular activities like seminar, study tour, industry visit are arranged by the department.
